Shazam’s feature Popular Segments introduces a new way of seeing how listeners interact with music.

Popular Segments highlights the part of a song which users related to the most. It utilises a graph to mark the sections which were Shazam’d by listeners. This is super helpful in demonstrating to artists which parts of their song are the most popular! It’s worth noting, however, that often the section which is Shazam’d will be the section after that which has caught the listener’s attention.

This feature is great generally for highlighting listener behaviour, the importance of different song structures, and even emerging music trends as it focuses on what is most sought after!

Please note that this feature is available for desktop and mobile users but not currently available on Shazam’s app.
