The ‘P’ line refers to the phonographic copyright line.
The phonographic copyright field is there to identify who owns the copyright on the sound recording of the performance on the release. This is usually the artist performing if you’re an indepentent artist, but it could also be the label or the publisher.
If you’re performing a cover, the original performing artist goes in the C line, but the artist performing the cover goes in the P line.
