Your name might be written all over that chocolate bar, but not on the release, please! 🍫
Aside from featuring, with and remixer artists, please don’t credit artists in your titles.
The artist list in your album and track metadata is the correct place to credit artists.
Here are a few examples we often see:
Primary artists in titles
Primary artist: Lil Joe
Incorrect track title: Lil Joe – Flexin’
Correct track title: Flexin’
The primary artist is already credited in the artist field – they’ll show up alongside the title in stores and don’t need to be added there.
Producers in titles
Primary artist: Lil Joe
Incorrect track title: Flexin’ (prod. capsctrl)
Correct track title: Flexin’
Unfortunately, our partner stores’ style requirements don’t let you do this. Producers can only be listed in artist field, so please add them in to whatever tracks they’re responsible for with the ‘Producer’ role.
