How are title versions displayed on Spotify and Apple Music/ iTunes?

Like a mirror ball, I’ll show you every version of your release tonight 🎵

When creating your release on RouteNote, it might be necessary that you include title versions. Here is a little guide on how these title versions will show on some of our partner stores.

Generally, a title version is displayed at the end of the track or album title, enclosed in parentheses () or brackets [].

This could look like: Song Title (Remix); Song Title (Live); Song Title (Radio Edit)

Remastered content is slightly different as this is designed to indicate the year of the remaster: Song Title (2024 Remaster)

Spotify

Spotify often uses dashes in title versions.

Song Title- Remix

Apple Music/ iTunes

Apple Music and iTunes use brackets in title versions.

Song Title [live]

Please note that other partner stores may display the title versions differently to these examples.
