Don’t get the blues when setting a genre, we’re here to help you out!

Try and pick the genre that best describes the music on your release – this makes it easier for new listeners to find your music. If you want to, you can also add a secondary genre, although this can be left on None.

To set your release genre(s), you’ll need to be logged into your RouteNote account. Open your release within your discography and click on Album Details.

Scroll down the page to find the genre fields, then use the drop-down options to select your genre(s).

Releases can’t use the classical or soundtrack genres unless they meet some special requirements. Please read our support articles on those if you want to use one of these genres.
