What’s in the no-go zone? 🚫
If one of the things below appears in your artist name, track title, label name, or anywhere else on your RouteNote release, it’s likely to be rejected by stores.
- Website addresses
- Hashtags
- Social media usernames (names beginning with the @ symbol)
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Promoting an upcoming release
- Asking customers to follow the artist on social media, even if links to the social media sites aren’t given
- Asking customers to find the artist’s content on other sites
- Store policies mean you can’t describe your release as being non-profit, copyright free, public domain, creative commons, or similar
- Mentioning different stores, or distribution companies, in your metadata
- Characters that are not part of a real language
- Non-standard punctuation symbols
Stores don’t like this stuff because it takes users away to content that the store hasn’t checked. If the moderation team have asked you to change your metadata, it’s probably because it falls under one of these categories.
