The lyricist is the person who has written the lyrics for the song. The lyrics are the words in a song.
The lyricist role, found within Publishing Details, should be used for crediting the lyric-writer of the track. Don’t forget, if you’re listing the lyricist at album level, it’ll need to be in at least one track’s Publishing Details. And if you’re listing the lyricist at track level, it’ll need to go in your Publishing Details at album level.
