How to B sharp in your metadata 🧠

If your track title is a cover, your track title must be an exact match with the original track.

Please note! This is the same for all types of covers, including parodies.

The only exception is where a small section of your track is a cover, e.g. if you have used the riff from a Beatles song once, or if you’ve used some lyrics taken from a Joni Mitchell track. This still needs to have covers store/territory formatting, and must credit the original artist in the C line, but does not need to share the original’s title.

Please refrain from using the word ‘cover’ in your title.

If your release contains a cover, even if it’s only one track on an album of original compositions, you’ve got to follow the guidelines set out here.
