Trust us, it’s a compliment!
We may need to ask you to show some proof that you’re allowed to distribute content from the artist whose release you’re uploading through RouteNote. If that artist is yourself, then we’re effectively asking you to show proof that you are who you say you are.
This is usually because the artist is high profile.
Unfortunately, we do get people falsely claiming to be an artist, or falsely claiming that they’ve got an artist under contract in order to upload their music. We know this process can be a pain, however we need to protect artists’ intellectual property.

Once we’ve verified the artist, we’ll flag your account confirming that you’re allowed to distribute that artist’s content, so we’ll only have to ask once!
