Sound advice for Spotify selection 👂
When adding artists to your release on RouteNote, you should now be able to select any claimed Spotify artist profile. You can enter your Spotify URI or URL to select your page, or simply start typing your artist name and a list of Spotify profiles will appear. If you don’t have a Spotify artist profile yet, please select ‘Create a new profile‘ on the drop-down menu.
If our system find that you have an existing page linked with your previous releases, it’ll ask you whether you’d like to update your artist to link to your existing profile or create a new profile.
If you’re linking one of the artists on your release to their existing Spotify profiles, there are a few things you’ve got to watch out for.
- Make sure it’s definitely your Spotify profile.
If you pick the wrong artist profile, it may delay the distribution of the release or it will end up on the wrong artist’s profile, causing all sorts of problems.
- Make sure your artist has the same Spotify profile selected throughout the release metadata.
If you’ve selected different artist profiles at album level and at track level, we’ll have to return the release to you and ask you to correct it, again delaying the distribution of your release.
- Two Spotify artist profiles.
If you’ve somehow ended up with two Spotify profiles for one artist, you can’t add the artist twice and pick a different profile for each. Stores will reject a release set up this way.
