Classical music lovers can now listen to your albums bach to bach 🎶

You’ll first need to make sure that your release falls into the classical genre. Classical music is classified as music that was written in the Classical Era: the period from the 1750s to the 1820s. This was the era of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, and Ludwig van Beethoven among others. For further information on what stores class as classical music, click here.
To get your classical release on Apple Music Classical, you just need to ensure that you select Apple Music for distribution upon creating or updating your release. Your release will then be available on Apple Music Classical 7-14 days after approval, or if your sales start date is after this, on your chosen sales start date.
If you’ve already uploaded a classical release to Apple Music, then you won’t need to do anything. If you’re an existing RouteNote user who releases classical music, your recordings will automatically release on Apple Music Classical.
How to upload your release to Apple Music Classical step-by-step:
- If you have a RouteNote account, log in. If you don’t, create an account.
- Click Distribution then Create New Release.
- Fill out your metadata, upload the audio, and choose your artwork. For a detailed guide on what metadata to include, see here.
- Next, select the stores and territories for release. To put your music on Apple Music Classical, tick iTunes & Apple Music. This will ensure your music is added to Apple Music Classical, as well as Apple Music and iTunes.
- Choose either Free or Premium distribution. For help with this, click here!
- Submit your release to moderation!
Once your release has been approved, it can take 7-14 days for your release to reach your chosen stores. Please note! Some stores may take up to 30 days. After this time, your release should be available in Apple Music Classical.
