Having your music on a Spotify curated playlist has many benefits, including wider audience reaches and better exposure as an artist. Here at RouteNote, we would like to offer you some tips on how to pitch your track to get onto one of these playlists.
Here’s how
- Log in to artists.spotify.com
- Go to Music then Upcoming.
- Choose one of your releases and fill out the information.
Please note that you can only submit one track to a playlist at a time. You should choose the song which you are most excited about and proud of.
When describing your track, be specific. The more detail that you include means that the Spotify editors will find your music easily and already gain a great understanding of the type of release which you are pitching.
Know that you can’t pitch compilation songs or songs where you are a featured artist. You must be the lead artist.
You should also pitch your song at least seven days before it is released.
Furthermore, Spotify currently have a feature which gives you an easier way to pitch your release to their editorial team! Simply log in to your Spotify for Artists account and there you’ll have the option of choosing an unreleased song to pitch.
