You won’t need a fix if you know how to format a remix 🛠️
Partner stores have specific formatting requirements for remixer artists, as shown below:
Track Title (Artist Name Remix)
A little pointer: Mix, or even remix with a lower case R aren’t allowed.
Here are the rules:
1. The artist must be added in brackets after the track title.
2. Unlike ‘feat.’ and ‘with’, ‘Remix’ must come after the artist name.
3. The artist must be in the title exactly as they appear in the artist data. This means they must be spelt the same, have the same number of spaces, and even have the same letters in capitals.
4. Featuring artists must have Remix before them.
If you’ve got more than one featuring, remixer or with artist, you’ll need to format your title in a certain way:
For multiple artists of the same role:
You’ll need to include an ‘&‘ character.
E.g. Track Title (Shabba & Reximus Remix)’ or ‘Track Title (with ShrexGG, Shabba & Erica Lawson)’
For multiple artists with a mix of Featuring/With/Remixer roles:
The first brackets must be curved ‘( )’, and all subsequent brackets must be square ‘[ ]’.
If there are multiple different types of artists credited in titles, then they must be credited in a specific order. Featuring artists must always come first, then with artists, then remix artists. For example:
‘Track Title (feat. Shabbaz) [with Sunshine54]’
‘Track Title (feat. Carl Taylor) [with Shamone] [Cheril Role Remix]’
‘Track Title (with SamSender) [Shabbaz Remix]’
‘Track Title (feat. ShrexGG) [Reximus Remix]’
Brackets that are part of a title do not need to follow this rule. For example;
‘Somebody (Once Told Me) (feat. Shabbaz)’
