Can I upload a track with a sudden ending?

An unexpected ending will need amending! 👎

We’re afraid we won’t be able to accept tracks uploaded through RouteNote which have unintentional sudden endings.

A sudden ending is where the full length of the tune hasn’t been uploaded. This might be that the track ends abruptly mid-way through the tune, or that the audio appears to cut off suddenly part of the way through the track. In either case, the problem is that the whole tune hasn’t been uploaded. Usually, this is due to an error during encoding that you may have missed, so please make sure you thoroughly check the finished audio file for errors before you upload it to a release.

If we think an incomplete track has been uploaded, we’ll refer it back to you to replace the audio file.

If your tracks have sudden endings intentionally and are your artistic choice, then just let us know! We’ll almost always upload the track once you return the release to us, but be aware there is a chance that our partner stores will make the same assumption we did and reject the release.

If you have a release where the audio from the end of one track flows into the start of the next, that’s fine! While it may appear that the track ends ‘suddenly’ in the middle of the audio, stores will know from context that this is a deliberate choice.
