Lots of followers and many-a-stream; you may get asked for proof by our team.
If an artist is high profile, it means they are either considered well-known, or they have a high number of fans or streams.
We may need to ask you to show some proof that you’re allowed to distribute content from the artist whose release you’re uploading through RouteNote. If that artist is yourself, you may be a little confused! We’re effectively asking you to show proof that you are who you say you are.
So don’t worry, it’s a compliment!
Unfortunately, we do get people falsely claiming to be an artist, or falsely claiming that they’ve got an artist under contract in order to upload their music. We know this process can be a pain, however we need to protect artists’ intellectual property.
