What is the meaning of YouTube Content ID?

Dream a little dream of…YouTube Content ID

YouTube‘s Content ID system will claim on any YouTube video that uses your audio.

By selecting YouTube as a store when you create your release on RouteNote, you are submitting your music to YouTube’s content ID system. This will automatically claim on any YouTube video that contains matching audio content from your release on your behalf – this can also include any videos uploaded to your personal YouTube channels.

The claim might look a little like this:

Please note! These claims are not a copyright strike! They simply ensure that the earnings from the usage of your content is going to the correct copyright holder.

The earnings and statistics from these claims will then be reflected in your sales report.

Please note that it can take 2-3 weeks from the date of your release being ingested into the Content ID system for claims to be automatically placed on any matching videos.
