How can I make my owned and operated channel (O&O) ready for an OAC?

Let’s get ready to rumble 🎇

Your owned and operated channel on YouTube must contain the correct content in order to be considered for an Official Artist Channel request.

You will need to make sure that you comply with the following before submitting your application:

  • Your channel must have video content which is uploaded regularly.
  • You must have at least one art track distributed by through RouteNote on your topic channel.
  • The videos on your channel must be full length- If there are only Shorts on the channel, then you will not be accepted.
  • The channel must be musically focused and not include footage of other content such as gaming.
  • Your O&O and your topic channel must have matching content.
  • The channel and the videos uploaded through it must be at least 30 days old.
  • Your O&O must not contain only still-image videos.
  • Your channel must not contain other artist’s content. This includes multi-artist channels, label/compilation channels, remixes/mash-ups, or mainly cover songs and non-original content.
  • Your channel cannot contain content which is made for algorithm manipulation. This could include generic or misleading content.

If you meet the criteria outlined above, as well as the other criteria in our OAC guide, then you are ready to submit your OAC request! Good luck!

Please note- The content of the videos on your O&O channel is a vital part of your application process, so it is important to ensure that you have followed these steps.
