How do I downgrade my Official Artist Channel?

Want to leave the OAC crew? We’d recommend not to, but guess it’s up to you-hoo 🤷

Once you upgrade to an Official Artist Channel and your subscribers are merged, both RouteNote and YouTube wouldn’t recommend opting out of the channel type unless absolutely necessary!

Not only is it a poor experience for subscribers, there are several risks associated with opting out:

  • You will lose all of the subscribers that were merged into your channel through OAC, and you may have fewer subscribers than before you joined OAC.
  • You may see a drop in watch time when your subscribers will be unmerged.
  • Fan confusion from being subscribed to multiple artist channels again
  • Your channel will lose all the features associated with the Official Artist channel – not just the shelves. This includes the music note, prominence in search results, Press Kit, and Ticketing.

If you’re sure that you’d still like to downgrade and unmerge your channels, then please get in touch with our support team at support@routenote.com and they can help you further. Please note! You’ll need to also state a reason behind your decision to downgrade your channel so that our support team can provide this to YouTube.
