Time to get the info ✍️
When applying for an Official Artist Channel on YouTube, you must ensure that your owned and operated channel (O&O) contains the correct information.
You will need to make sure you comply with the following before submitting your application:
- Your O&O channel description must include social media links (ideally verified) which represent your artist. This can include a link to Facebook, Instagram, or X as some examples. These links must be credited individually as YouTube can’t accept link-in-bio tools.
Here’s how you can add links:
- On a computer, go to your channel and click the About tab. If you’re in the new YouTube layout, click Customize channel.
- Hover over the “Links” section, then click edit.
- Click the +Add button.
- Enter the title and URL of the site you want to link to – you can add up to five links.
- Click Done.
- The names of your topic channel and your owned and operated channel must match identically. This includes spelling and capitalisation.
- Your subscriber to views ratio must be legitimate, consistent, and show no sign of suspicious activity.
If you meet the criteria outlined above, as well as the other criteria in our OAC guide, then you are ready to submit a successful OAC application! Good luck!
