Is YouTube Content ID used for monetising channels?

YPP rejection? Content ID is still only for protection 🛡️

When you distribute your music through RouteNote and select YouTube (which refers to YouTube Content ID) as a store, we will claim on any YouTube video that contains matching audio from your release on your behalf.

YouTube Content ID is used for protecting your rights to your tracks and ensures that any instances of usage are claimed and royalties are collected. It is not to be used to monetise channels if they are not eligible for the YouTube Partner Programme.

To monetise your channel, you must apply for the YPP (YouTube Partner Program). For their eligibility information, click here.
