Can I use a track previously distributed in an album on a single?

Nothing less than a yes! 👍

If you have previously released a track within an album and now want to upload it as a single, this is fine to do. Just proceed by uploading your single!

It’s your decision whether or not you wish to remove your album. You’re more than welcome to keep it live if you want!

Please see our article on releasing a single and reuploading it in an album by clicking here!

Spotify will automatically attempt to link tracks that match already existing content, once both your matching tracks are live on the store. If a match is found, the play counts for the linked tracks will be collected together and the total amount of plays will be displayed on both your tracks. To find out more on Spotify track linking, click here.
